The Dr. Soul Experience was a soul-jazz side project by the members of Phil Martin’s Mystical Funk. Featuring hard-hitting Fender Rhodes, gritty Hammond organ, wild tenor sax, driving bass, rhythmic guitar, and groovy drums—what more could one ask for?
The band released one single 7″ vinyl, containing three original compositions, produced by none other than Phil Martin himself. Originally released on May 5, 2004, via Booty Bump Records, this record is now a rare and highly sought-after collector’s item, issued in an extremely limited edition.
On February 21st 2025, the single plus a bonus track have digitally been re-released on all major streaming platforms.
